Over the last several years, I've been able to cultivate several super-strong sources with information into Michigan football and recruiting. One source in particular is wired-in to the recruitment, and now development, of Michigan RB Kareem Walker. Back in October 2015, I used these sources to break the story of him flipping from Ohio State to Michigan weeks before any other reporter, and I've kept these sources on Walker on speed-dial since he arrived in Ann Arbor in 2016.
After he redshirted last season, I told you there were some serious, recurring issues that were going to prevent Walker from playing as a true freshman in 2016 - and told you last February that he might not even be on the roster to start the 2017.
Walker was a close friend of and had similar issues/rules violations as fellow 2016 WR recruit Ahmir Mitchell - who was dismissed from Michigan only 4 weeks into fall camp his freshman season. Mitchell transferred to Rutgers, where he was also dismissed in October 2017.
As of moments ago, after talking to multiple sources with direct knowledge, I can now report that Kareem Walker has been dismissed from Michigan's football team by coach Jim Harbaugh or a 4th violation of of team rules in his 2 seasons in Ann Arbor. We are the first to report this story and it has not been announced by the team or school.
Back in October, RB Coach Jay Harbaugh alluded to Walker's issues on the "Inside Michigan Football" radio show. "Well, he was dealing with some things that I'm not going to comment on," Harbaugh said then.

Walker's issues got him sent home from Tampa during the week leading up to the Outback bowl a couple weeks ago.
Walker was in the doghouse again to begin this season - not getting any carries in the 1st 3 weeks of the year, and only rushed for 68 yards on 20 carries, and 1 TD in 5 games.
We started looking into this matter last night, and again this morning after rumor-beast Gregg Henson tweeted about it, followed up by a tweet from a popular parody account that often breaks news on the Michigan football team.
I was told that Walker is enrolled in class at Michigan this semester, has been attending class, and has a chance of returning to the Michigan football team in the future should he straighten out the personal issues that have resulted in his dismissal.
