Just because Michigan is out of the NCAA tournament doesn't mean that we can't talk about basketball...unless that basketball is NCAA basketball. Thank (pick your all-knowing sky person) for Stephon Mabury and the Chinese.
For those who don't know, Stephon Marbury and his Beijing Ducks are taking on Aaron Brooks and the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the finals of the Chinese Basketball Association's playoffs. Here's Stephon playing the role of a vaseline eating Bruce Lee as he tries to Anderson Silva Aaron Brooks:
Aaron Brooks wants absolutely no part of Stephon. Aaron, like the rest of us (including Stephon) is confused as to whether he's about to get his face punched, eaten, or licked like a hungry deer. LINCOLN HIGH MFer! Outside of the Muay-Tai demonstration, Stephon also scored 36 and had 4 steals in a surprise 108-101 Ducks victory in Game 1. I say "surprise," because Guangdong has made 8 consecutive finals appearances and Beijing is known more for their delicious actual ducks than their basketball Ducks. I'd say "Go Ducks!" if it didn't remind me of a certain very painful memory involving a hammer, a block M and seething hatred for Jonathon Stewart.
Stephon Chinese odyssey is actually fascinating and you can read more about it here.
