According to a well-placed source insider the Michigan football program, Chat Sports has learned that Brady Hoke has let key members of the Michigan football team know that Devin Gardner will NOT be the Michigan starting QB this week, and that sophomore lefty Shane Morris will get the second start of his young career.
The decision was made on Monday, but Coach Hoke decided to not announce the change in an effort to not cause a media circus and pile on additional pressure onto Morris.
From what our source has told us, it is unlikely we ever see Devin Gardner take starting snaps at QB again in his Michigan career. OC Doug Nussmeier has been reportedly lobbying for Morris to start for several weeks, but Hoke was unwilling to give up on Gardner until now.
