My beloved Wolverines won their 4th consecutive game with a comfortable 28-7 win over the San Diego State Aztecs. From the student section, it was quite apparent that students were relatively disinterested and as a result were relatively quiet. As a member of Michigan Greek Life I can tell you that most people associated with Greek Life at UM were exhausted this weekend from a long two weeks of rush. Although I do not validate this as a reason for a lack of cheering, I too found myself dragging myself out of bed to get to the game.
Definitely expect next weeks game vs Minnesota to be much louder for a number of reasons. First there will be many out of town people here for the game which means more taunting and heckling from students all around Ann Arbor. Second, now that rush is over, tailgates will be much more exciting because the new freshman will be joining their new fraternity houses for tailgates. So expect many rowdy freshman running the Big House bleachers this weekend. Finally, we are headed into the B1G portion of our schedule, meaning students can start to smell MSU and OSU just a few weeks away.
In the mean time, check out some of my student section moments from this weekends game. Get pumped, the fun part of our schedule is just about to begin!
The third quarter slow motion wave
If you cannot convert on 4th and 1 on our defense, then you really do deserve this...
