The Michigan Wolverines are in search of a new athletic director, with the university's goal to have a name in place by November 29th.
While an unofficial list of candidates has emerged, it appears that Oklahoma's Joe Castiglione is a perfect fit for the position, as reports have stated that Castiglione would accept the job if he was offered.
Castiglione has served as Oklahoma's Athletic Director since 1998, overseeing seven national championship teams in football, softball and gymnastics.
He received the 2004 Bobby Dowd Award, a recognition for being the athletic director of the year. He then won Athletic Director of the Year in 2009.
Castiglione was in charge of hiring Oklahoma's current football coach Bob Stoops, although Stoops is not likely to follow Castiglione if hired.
Michigan is said to prefer to have the new athletic director make a decision on Brady Hoke's future, meaning Hoke's potential replacement will also be selected by the new AD.
Michigan is also linked to Northwestern's AD Jim Phillips and Central Michigan's AD Dave Heeke, among others.
