In a very weird bit of Michigan football rumors, it seems there is an outside chance that the Michigan Wolverines may not have lost out on one of their coveted five-star recruiting targets.
According to the folks over at maizenbrew.com, five-star defensive end Malik McDowell still does not have an official Letter of Intent filed with the rival Michigan State Spartans, who McDowell announced yesterday on National Signing Day as his school of choice.
Adding intrigue to this situation is the fact that Malik Mcdowell's mother, Joya Crowe, is an ardent Michigan supporter, and due "to a series of events that occurred at Michigan State (which should remain undisclosed until Crowe feels the need to speak on the matter,)" is firmly against her son attending Michigan State under head coach Mark D'Antonio.
Due to the paperwork not being faxed over to Michigan State headquarters at this point, and the fact that McDowell's father, Greg McDowell, is not his legal guardian, there are several sources around the situation who believe the Michigan Wolverines are back in on the 247Sports 2014 first-team All-American.
Chat Sports will have more on this situation as it continues to develop. Stay tuned.
