The Michigan Wolverines are already setting up their target list at defensive back for the 2016 recruiting class, offering 3-star Waco, Texas cornerback Eric Cuffee a scholarship this weekend.
"I talked to Coach Jackson and Coach Durkin," Cuffee said, via 247Sports. "They love the physical nature of my game and believe I could be a real asset to them defensively. They are definitely passionate about Michigan and what they can offer me."
Michigan secondary coach Greg Jackson could be the key to landing Cuffee. Jackson coached Cuffee's cousin, 49ers cornerback Perrish Cox, before following Jim Harbaugh to Ann Arbor.
"I'm going to be reaching out to him soon," Cuffee said of his cousin. "I'll be asking him about working with Coach Jackson and what it was like to play for Coach Harbaugh as well. It will give me extra insight on their staff that I may not have gotten otherwise."
Baylor is the projected favorite to keep Cuffee in-city, but the talented defensive back is also entertaining offers from Stanford and Ole Miss, among many others.
It's all about fit," he said. "I'm going to have some good schools to choose from and I'll have time to figure out where I want to go. I like Baylor; they are a good school. That doesn't mean I am going there."
Cuffee is ranked as the #33 cornerback in his class by 247Sports. He is expected to field offers from in-state schools Texas and Texas A&M as his recruitment process progresses.
