It's been over a week since Jim Harbaugh was hired to lead Michigan football back to championship glory, and as expected, there's a major buzz amongst the nation's top recruits surrounding the hiring of the well-respected former Wolverines and NFL quarterback.
We're here to give you all the latest rumors and news from the recruiting trail leading to Ann Arbor in our Michigan Football Recruiting: Rumors Roundup For Thursday 1/8.
Kinnel and David to visit, remain solid Wolverines commits after transition
Michigan commitments Andrew David (kicker) and Tyree Kinnel (safety) are readying to take their official visits to Ann Arbor next weekend, per Wolverine247.
According to the report, Kinnel remains "steadfast" after committing to Michigan in August of 2013, despite the regime change and an official visit to Notre Dame this past December. The four-star Dayton (OH) recruit could challenge for a spot in the team's defensive backfield rotation with the team's projected lack of depth at safety.
Andrew David is considered one of the top kickers in the Class of 2015, and the Massillon, OH product has also remained solid to Michigan since his commitment way back in June of 2013.
Michigan reaches out to UVA defensive end commit Rasool Clemons
Wolverines coaches reached out to four-star Aiken (SC) South defensive end and University of Virginia commit Rasool Clemons on Tuesday, according to a Wolverine247 report.
Clemons is widely considered a soft commitment for the Cavaliers. While he doesn't have an official offer from the Wolverines just yet, he has stated before that he'll take an official visit to Ann Arbor before his full recruitment process is finalized.
The Class of 2015 standout also holds offers from Florida State, LSU, and Clemson amongst others.
Top Michigan offensive line standout to visit Columbus once again
Four-star Canton Plymouth offensive lineman Michael Jordan is a coveted commodity amongst Big Ten schools, with the top 2016 prospect currently holding offers from Michigan, Michigan State, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer hasn't backed off of his work in the state of Michigan with Jim Harbaugh now at the helm of the Wolverines, and Jordan is major evidence of that.
The six-foot-six, 285-pounder is readying to take yet another visit to Columbus after already having taken several before.
“I’m going to Ohio State’s junior day Jan. 25,” Jordan said, via 247Sports. “Ohio State is my next visit. Then I’ll probably go to Notre Dame in February.”
