Four-star Philadelphia (PA) Imhotep Institute tight end Naseir Upshur is one of the top targets left on Michigan football's 2016 recruiting board, and it appears the program has as good a shot as any to land his pledge after his recent two-day unofficial visit to Ann Arbor.
"Coach took us all over on a big tour," Upshur said, via 247Sports. "By the end of the trip, I had really seen the whole city and it wasn't what I expected. It was a lot different than I thought it was going to be and I really liked it a lot. The tour and what campus was like was a pleasant surprise to me."
This was Upshur's first visit to campus since the hiring of Jim Harbaugh, and he came away with a much different first impression of the new Michigan coach than he was expecting.
"He was a lot more laid back than I thought he was," he said. "He had as much fun as we did showing us around all of these places, even though he's been around them a bunch of times. It was the first time I really got to spend a lot of time with him one-on-one like that and it was a lot of fun."
Upshur released his top eight immediately upon returning home from Ann Arbor, with Michigan joining the likes of USC, Alabama and South Carolina on his list of finalists.
