In this Michigan football news and rumors update, the Michigan Wolverines (2-1) will face their first true home test of the 2014 NCAA season as they welcome in the Pac-12's Utah Utes (2-0) on Saturday.
Michigan opens as a 7-point favorite over the Utes on Sunday, as listed by VegasInsider.com. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will air on ABC or ESPN2.
The Utes had a bye last week, but have won their first two games against Idaho State and Fresno State by a combined score of 115-41.
Their 57.5 points per game currently ranks them third in the NCAA, with a balanced attack (25th in rushing, 29th in passing) that makes them a unique challenge coming into the Big House.
Defensively, Michigan will see a passing defense in the middle of the pack in college football (57th), so Brady Hoke could very well try to air it out a bit early to give QB Devin Gardner a quick confidence boost.
Utah's last trip to Michigan was in 2008, as they upended the Rich Rodriguez-led Wolverines 25-23 en route to a perfect 13-0 campaign.
