In the wake of Michigan's 43-40 upset loss to Penn State in Happy Valley, Brady Hoke has mixed things up on his offensive line. Guards Kyle Kalis and Chris Bryant have been moved out of the starting lineup, and in their place Hoke has drafted in redshirt junior Joey Burzynski and redshirt freshman Erik Magnuson.
Kalis, a redshirt freshman himself, has started all six games so far as right guard. Bryant, a redshirt sophomore, is also in his first year as a starter for Michigan. He got his first start against Minnesota, and has started each game since.
Burzynski is the most experienced guard on Michigan's roster, and is in his third year as a factor on the Michigan offensive line. Magnuson has appeared in five games in spot action so far, but has impressed in his limited playing time.
Hoke has faith in his new starters to play well right away:
"Joey's gonna step up," Hoke said. "He had a good game last week."
