New Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh appeared on the Rich Eisen Show on Thursday, and he let everyone in America know that his loyalty to the Big Ten and the Midwest trumps Michigan football's longstanding rivalry with Ohio State when it comes to next week's National Championship Game.
"I'm going to be rooting for Ohio State," Harbaugh said of the Oregon/OSU matchup, via 247Sports. "I am a midwesterner and I was raised in Ohio. I went to Michigan and was raised there too. There's been a lot of talk about other conferences, but it's fabulous that a team from our conference will be playing in that game. I would rather it be us!"

Harbaugh also went into detail about his first official team meeting as the program's head coach, which took place on Wednesday night.
"What a great honor that is to be in front of a Michigan team. A team is a group of relationships focused on achieving a goal and that process began officially last night," Harbaugh said to Eisen. "I appreciate the support and enthusiasm from those that are for us. Hopefully a year from now, you have that same excitement and enthusiasm. As far as expectations, you can hope for it, but you have to work at it. I am committed to doing the best job I possibly can.
"Expectations will be very high; this is the University of Michigan. Expectations were high at the meeting. They're high today for running. They're high tomorrow when they're in the weight room."
When the conversation turned to the soon-to-be-fully-rebuilt coaching staff, the former San Francisco 49ers head man could barely conceal his excitement.
"It's coming together great. I am excited about our coaching staff. I think you'll be impressed," Harbaugh said.
