The Michigan Wolverines had two major quarterback gets during the 2015 recruiting season, landing Alex Malzone and flipping Zach Gentry from Texas. However, that doesn't means that Jim Harbaugh will take it easy when it comes to finding signal callers in 2016.
In fact, Tim Sullivan of the Detroit Free Press believes that quarterbacks will be "the main focus" of the program's recruiting efforts for the 2016 cycle:
First and foremost is quarterback. While that position was addressed in full this off-season (two four-star signees in Alex Malzone and Zack Gentry, along with Houston sophomore transfer John O'Korn), Jim Harbaugh has shown in the past that he'd like to make sure the signal-callers are always well-stocked. An elite passer in the 2016 class – perhaps Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic four-star recruit K.J. Costello – would fit the bill nicely.
Harbaugh's recruiting forethought is poised to may major dividends down the road at several key positions, but his propensity to target as much blue-chip QB talent as possible may end up having the biggest impact in 2016 and beyond.
