Former Auburn safety Derrick Moncrief announced his decision to transfer last week after being a backup for the Tigers last season, and was hoping to be a Michigan Wolverine.
Unfortunately, that won't be happening:
Former Auburn safety Derrick Moncreif tells me he was released to transfer to any school in the Big 10 except #Michigan

Auburn also didn't release Moncreif to any other schools in the SEC or any programs on the schedule (knocks out Clemson & Louisville)

#Michigan is the only school for which Moncreif wasn't given a reason for denying release. Begs the question, is it a shot at @CoachJim4UM?

The move seems to be related to the satellite camp issue that SEC coaches are not too fond of. Harbaugh can travel wherever he wants to attend other camps, giving the Wolverines as much exposure as possible, while SEC (and ACC) coaches are limited to attending camps only within 50 miles of campus.
