In this Michigan football news and rumors update, Michigan Wolverines head coach Brady Hoke has been painted as callous and uncaring at times by opposing fans when it comes to how he views rival players and staff.
Per John Taylor of NBC's College Football Talk, one such critic went so far as to infer that Hoke would see the season-ending injury suffered by Ohio State Buckeyes starting quarterback Braxton Miller as a chance to level a dig at the Wolverines' most hated rival:
The real question would be Hoke’s reaction to this. I’m sure he wouldn’t take the high road about the injury.
Brady Hoke's actual reaction to the Miller injury?
“I feel terrible for Braxton Miller and his family,” the Michigan head coach said during a radio interview Friday morning, via Taylor's article on Friday. “He’s been a class act any time I’ve been around him.
“You never want a kid to get hurt.”
In short, Hoke responded like a human being and not a caricature - expressing sympathy for a kid (and not a symbol) who is going through a traumatic time in his life.
