New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton addressed a speculative report from TheMMQB.com earlier this week by saying there was no chance he is leaving New Orleans after this season. He reiterated his position when addressing a report by Sports Illustrated writer Ben Estes that claimed he holds interest in the Michigan Wolverines' head coaching vacancy.
“I’ve got no interest in any other job but this one,” Payton said, via TheAdvocate.com. “I know you guys will preface all of that by, ‘Well, he’s got to say that.’ It seems like every three years I answer that question, and every three years, sure enough, he’s the head coach here. I did answer it earlier. This is the job I’m most interested in and only interested in.”
Estes tweeted last week that he heard from a current coach who indicated Payton would be interested in a move to Ann Arbor if Michigan approached him during their coaching search.
“One bit of Michigan search info I can share–there’s one well-known current head coach who believes Michigan is going to hire Sean Payton,” Estes tweeted.
