Despite a multitude of rumors that have been gaining steam over the past month or so, LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles ruled out a return to his alma mater, the Michigan Wolverines, after a team practice on Tuesday.
Here ESPN's David Ching with the report:
Miles refused to be quoted on the record in the post-practice chat with reporters, but he sent a clear message: A return to Ann Arbor is not going to happen. He and his agent, George Bass, have not heard from Michigan, Miles said, and he would not change jobs even if Michigan made contact.
Miles told officials from the LSU athletic department that he has neither been contacted by the University of Michigan nor does he intend to leave his post as Tigers head coach, per a statement by LSU spokesperson Michael Bonnette.
This is not the first time that Les Miles has been connected to the Michigan job, with the most notable example coming prior to the 2007 SEC Championship game. Each time rumors have cropped up, Miles has stuck to his guns and remained in Baton Rouge. That once again looks to be the case as bowl season approaches.
