Michigan basketball rumors are already looking to the future during this year's Final Four, with one Michigan Wolverines star using the time after the team's Elite Eight exit to decide when he will engage his NBA future.
In an interview with Toronto's Sportsnet 590 The Fan, Michigan guard Nik Stauskas stated that he will most likely make the decision whether to enter the 2014 NBA Draft or to return to Michigan for his junior season sooner rather than later -- “I’m talking with my parents and taking some meetings with people to figure this situation out and see what’s best for me and my future.
“That’s a decision that I’m probably going to come up on in the next week or so.”
The star Michigan sophomore garnered Big Ten Player of the Year honors in 2013-14, scoring a team 17.5 points per game. Many experts have Stauskas projected off the board in the middle of the 2014 NBA Draft's first round, with a solid career arc expected.
After Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. left early for the draft last season, Michigan Wolverines head coach John Beilein may see several players leave early again. In addition to the possibility of Stauskas' departure, sophomores Glenn Robinson III and Mitch McGary are also weighing their draft options at the present moment.
