Michigan's defense is getting another lift - according to Michigan coach Brady Hoke, linebacker Jake Ryan has received medical clearance to play football again.
Ryan, a redshirt junior, tore his ACL in spring practice. Ryan's recovery has gone extremely well, and team doctors have given him the all-clear to play this Saturday in Happy Valley against Penn State. If Ryan isn't ready to go that soon, he should definitely be back in action for the October 19th home game against Indiana.
An All-Big Ten second team selection last season, Ryan is one of Michigan's four co-captains, along with Taylor Lewan, Courtney Avery, and Cam Gordon.
