You might have noticed that a group of football teams that aren't run by a money hungry, delusional, self-important and possibly facist-leaning governing body are currently participating in a PLAYOFF to determine the best team in the country this weekend. My head and brain nearly exploded and at several times blood cascaded out of my eyes as I watched this perfectly egalitarian PLAYOFF took place. Where are the bowls FCS? Don't they realize their regular season isn't important and they're obviously ruining the tradition that comes from new year's day staples like the Champs Sports Bowl and the TicketCity Bowl? Morons, all of them.
Unfortunately, several hundred bowl administrators, spontaneously combusted while flipping between Diners Drive-Ins and Dives and Real Housewives when they accidentally turned to ESPN and saw Montana State and SHSU. All that was left of these heros was their yellow bowl administrator jackets, which are made to withstand a nuclear apocalypse and personal shame. It's just awful to see men and women like that combust. Their 25 hour work weeks, for 3 months a year for $500k were giving young lazy people something to aspire to. The Music City bowl can't sell 25,000 tickets in a 60,000 seat stadium without their hard work.
Contrary to NCAA belief the universe did not collapse in on itself and in fact, some great football was played this weekend. I think two plays in particular should be highlighted for spectacularness and because Nate Montana gets faked stabbed.
Here's an absolutely amazing catch by Montana State's Elvis Akpla in a big win for SHSU:
Nate Montana making his dad and Brian Kelly proud by getting fake stabbed, FINISH HIM!!!!!!
Maybe the best part about this whole ridiculous incident is that Montana (the QB) was only in because Montana (the college) was up 38. It was mop up duty and Montana (the QB), who didn't throw a pass all day, was in the game simply to kneel. Instead of simply doing his incredibly easy job, he decided to say, "Suck it Northern Iowa, you ruined everyone's NCAA bracket two years ago and I'm still pretty pissed." Nate Montana never forgets and he sure as shit doesn't forgive.
I'm a substance over style guy, unless I'm the one styling, so I pick Elvis' as the week's best. What do you think?
