Star freshman Jabrill Peppers came to the Michigan football program with a ton of hype and the expectation of being the Wolverines' next great corner, but never really got a chance to see the field last year.
Peppers suffered an injury in the season opener against Appalachian State and was redshirted for the rest of the year. Now, it appears he'll be moving to safety under Jim Harbaugh. Peppers is supposedly excited about the move, and Michigan thinks it's best for the team.
However, was the motive of the change to make way for five-star corner Iman Marshall?
Marshall visited Michigan this past Sunday, and was reportedly really happy with his visit. Peppers' move to safety started gaining some serious traction in the program early this week - after Marshall's visit.
Marshall is one of the top uncommitted prospects in the nation, and Harbaugh has made him a top priority. USC is the favorite to land him on National Signing Day, but the Peppers move suddenly opens up immediate playing time for him, something the Trojans can't promise.
While it's just speculation at this point, the dots are there to connect. Michigan needs to get their best players on the field however they can, but Peppers probably wouldn't be moving to safety if Marshall wasn't in the fold.
