The Michigan Wolverines have their fair share of impact talents to work with on their road to College Football Playoff glory in 2015, and these next guys are the biggest assets of all. Here's our list of the 6 Best Michigan Football Players For 2015:
6) S Jabrill Peppers, So.
The sophomore defensive back is healthy and looking fast, and the stage appears set for him to turn every Michigan football defensive series into a potential Vine/GIF highlight reel.
The former 5-star recruit has packed on the muscle, and he's ready to roam the secondary while dishing out equal parts bone-crushing hits and amazing route reads. Have your finger on the record button.
5) S Jarrod Wilson, Sr.
The 6-2, 210-pounder has turned into solid hitter, recording 50 tackles in each of the last two seasons. He needs to do more as a playmaker as he didn't record an interception last season, but he's a reliable player to have in the back end of a defense.
4) RB Derrick Green, Jr.
Green was the starting running back at the beginning of the season for the Wolverines, but missed the last half of the year with a broken clavicle. He recorded 471 yards and three touchdowns through six games last year on an impressive 5.7 yards a carry, and is the early favorite to start again this year.
The former five-star recruit is a powerful running at 5'11", 227 lbs., and is the most like the running backs Harbaugh is used to. Green only had one game with more than 15 carries last season - he should see a MUCH heavier workload in 2015.
3) LB Desmond Morgan, Sr.
Morgan missed all of last season after suffering a hand injury in Michigan's season opener, and the Wolverines are happy to have him back. The 6-1, 236 pounder is a superb tackler, and he’s going to be one of the key leaders of a great linebacking corps that needs to replace Jake Ryan. He’s not a great pass rusher, but nothing is going to get past him.
2) DT Chris Wormley, So.
The 6-4, 300-pounder is a good all-around playmaker because of his great athleticism for his size. He doesn't do anything especially crazy, but he just gets the job done, even if the stats aren’t fantastic.
1) LB Joe Bolden, Sr.
The team’s leading returning tackler, Bolden is big, quick, and smart, earning academic all-conference honors. He blossomed in a bigger role in 2014, making 102 tackles with two sacks and four tackles for loss. He’s not great in pass coverage, but he's one of the best run-stopping linebackers in the country.
