Schoonmaker had not publicly revealed he even had an offer from Michigan before making his commitment. He held other offers from schools like Indiana, Rutgers and Temple. 247Sports reports Michigan liked what they saw from Schoonmaker at a satellite camp in June.
The 6-foot-6, 225-pound TE is the No. 871 overall recruit in the class of 2018. He's the No. 40 TE and the No. 2 player from the state of Connecticut. Schoonmaker actually plays mostly QB for his school team, per Maxpreps, though he'll make a switch for college.
