The Michigan Wolverines have won three games in a row since their stunning loss to Michigan State, and are looking to continue that win streak against Penn State in Happy Valley on Saturday. Here are three reasons why Michigan is guaranteed to do just that:
3) Jake Rudock's development
Ruduck was undoubtedly one of the worst quarterbacks in the country earlier this season, but he's become a viable threat in Michigan's offensive attack. His progression came to a head last weekend, passing for 440 yards and six touchdowns against Indiana while adding another 64 rushing yards on the ground. If he can give the Wolverines at least half of that on Saturday, they'll win easily.
2) Penn State's offensive struggles
The Nittany Lions rank just 89th in the country in passing yards and 99th in rushing yards, and they've only scored 30 points three times this year. This is a major problem for the Nittany Lions because of...
1) Michigan's dominant defense
Michigan ranks second in yards allowed (268.7 per game) and sixth in points allowed (14.8 per game) this season. They went three straight games without giving up a single point and have continued to improve with each game this season, and their play has made them an extremely dangerous threat in the Big Ten race. Expect them to completely shut down Penn State's star quarterback Christian Hackenburg and force him into multiple turnovers.
