Michigan football picked up its 3rd commitment of the Jim Harbaugh era (and 9th in the Class of 2015) on Sunday, as two-star West Chester (OH) offensive tackle Nolan Ulizio gave his pledge to the program.
With impressive measurables at 6-foot-6, 280-pounds, the Lakota West High product and former UConn pledge combines a natural offensive tackle frame with a more-than-adequater reach and wingspan. Michigan's coaches have been impressed with how fluid he is off the snap, along with how easy he appears to shift from side to side while blocking.
However, perhaps the most intriguing part of the package for Ulizio is his natural fire and passion for his job. What he may lack in sheer athleticism, Ulizio makes up for by finishing his blocks with undeniable aggressiveness. He's also shifty enough to block on both pulls and screens, and versatile enough not to look out of place while doing so. With that in mind, he should be the perfect piece for coach Jim Harbaugh's power run scheme in that he won't be afraid to extend blocks out into space.
The key for Ulizio will likely be the weight room. Some scouts have deemed him as 'top heavy,' so it'll take some work on his frame to ensure that he has the stamina necessary to succeed at the collegiate level.
Ulizio joins four-star QB Zach Gentry (flipped from Texas) and 3-star DE Reuben Jones as prospects who have committed to the program this weekend.
