Xavier Henderson spent the past two seasons around some strong leaders in Michigan State’s secondary.
But Khari Willis is off to the NFL. So is Josiah Scott. David Dowell is gone, too.
That puts the third-year junior strong safety in command of the Spartans’ defensive backs as the transition from Mark Dantonio to Mel Tucker continues.
“Towards the end of (last) season, I felt like I was clicking for sure,” Henderson said Thursday during a video call with reporters. “I felt like it was our secondary and my secondary to take control of and to kind of lead these guys.
