EAST LANSING — Michigan State two-time team captain Shilique Calhoun has a wrist injury that will prevent him from taking part in Senior Bowl all-star game activities next week.
Calhoun called Senior Bowl executive director Phil Savage on Monday to let him know about the injury and his status for the elite college all-star event that begins on Tuesday in Mobile, Alabama, and culminates with the Jan. 30 game.
The Senior Bowl had granted Calhoun's request to get some looks as an outside linebacker — the sort used in 3-4 schemes — and Savage said teams were interested in seeing how the 6-foot-5, 250-pounder looked playing on his feet rather than a three-point or four-point stance.
