EAST LANSING -- A month before enrolling at Michigan State, wide receiver signee Jalen Nailor won four Nevada track state titles, including in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, to finish out his athletic career for Bishop Gorman High School near Las Vegas.
So it's no surprise that when he arrived at Michigan State for preseason camp in late July, his nickname caught on quickly.
"We call him Speedy," Spartans senior wide receiver Felton Davis said of Nailor, correcting a reporter who called him Jalen. "That's what we call him, Speedy Nailor."
That speed has helped Nailor break into a deep and talented receiver group as a true freshman for Michigan State.
