EAST LANSING - For three straight seasons, it was the same rotation at running back.
LJ Scott, Gerald Holmes and Madre London split starts and carries in Michigan State's three-pronged rushing attack.
This year was supposed to be different.
Holmes graduated, London took a graduate transfer to Tennessee and Scott passed on leaving for the NFL draft to return for his senior season. It was going to be a heavy dose of Scott and, perhaps, his first 1,000-yard season after leading the team in rushing each of his first three years.
Michigan State is now one-third of the way through the 2018 schedule and it's back to running back by committee.
