Comcast subscribers in the state of Michigan are inching closer to a Big Ten Network blackout.
Two weeks before the college football season is set to start, the Big Ten Network and Comcast Corporation -- the state's largest cable provider -- remain at an impasse over contract negotiations.
The network's current 10-year contract with Comcast is set to expire on Aug. 31, jeopardizing the ability for Comcast subscribers in Michigan and other Big Ten markets to watch football games this fall.
As of now, a Comcast blackout would affect at least two Michigan football games, with the potential for more.
