Rumors had been swirling ever since Steve Spurrier stepped down as head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks that Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio would give his alma mater a second glance.
Dantonio played football for the Gamecocks from 1976-78 before he graduated and now he has put together one of the most impressive coaching careers in college football. In fact, he is considered one of the top-three coaches in the nation.
Those kinds of coaches usually draw rumors such as these when top schools in the SEC want to steal you away from your current team.
