A few Michigan State football players lugged their helmets out of the Skandalaris Center in East Lansing at midday Saturday, still wearing their jerseys and shorts. They had just wrapped up the second preseason practice under new coach Mel Tucker.
Meanwhile, in Ann Arbor, outside of Schembechler Hall, one man wearing a mask sat watching the occasional car pass through the parking lot. As six shirtless baseball players worked out nearby, Michigan football's practice field sat empty after a morning workout.
