Tom Izzo has the point guard. He has the big man. He has the wings.
He’s has experience and depth and chemistry. He’s got freshmen. Three of them. All could play. One, Rocket Watts, could eventually start, because he can do something no one else on the team can do:
Shoot from distance off the dribble.
Because of all this, and because Michigan State basketball returns the Big Ten player of the year in Cassius Winston, Izzo’s Spartans should begin the year ranked in the top three in the polls.
