EAST LANSING - When Michigan State began the first practice of fall camp Thursday morning, its four quarterbacks were lined up side-by-side taking snaps in an end zone.
The pecking order, at least at the top, is clear.
Redshirt junior Brian Lewerke is coming off a breakout season and is not only the clear starter but one of the top quarterbacks in the Big Ten.
Beyond him, there is uncertainty. Lewerke is the only quarterback on the roster who has taken a snap for the Spartans as Damion Terry graduated and Messiah deWeaver transferred to East Mississippi Community College.
