For the third time in his career, Don Treadwell will be on Michigan State’s coaching staff.
The former offensive coordinator (2007-10) and wide receivers coach (2000-02) was announced as a defensive backs and special teams coach. His role will also include “freshmen head coach” which is a new position “created to support first-year players in their growth and development both on and off the field.”
He will also help as an offensive consultant. Basically, he’ll take on a jack-of-all-trades position.
In Treadwell’s reign as offensive coordinator, the Spartans went 33-19 — including the 11-2 season in 2010 before Treadwell jumped to be head coach at Miami (OH).
