The sports world mourned Thursday with the news that longtime basketball sideline reporter Craig Sager had passed away at age 65 due to leukemia.
Michigan State coach Tom Izzo was asked about Sager, how well he knew him and what he meant to the sport. You can see his answer above:
“Craig was involved in the hall of fame when I was down in Houston,” Izzo said. “I knew him a little bit through Steve Smith too. That saddens me, of course. But what a fight and what a role model to show you how to live through it.
