Former Michigan State Spartans star Draymond Green will not have to appear in court to be arraigned on an assault charge, according to MLive.com.

Lansing-based attorney James Heos filed the waiver of arraignment, which was approved by East Lansing District Court Judge Andrea Andrews Larkin. Had the waiver not been granted, Green would have to appear before July 20.

Green was arrested early Sunday morning following an altercation with MSU DB Jermaine Edmonson. He was later released on $200 bond, and potentially faces up to a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.
