EAST LANSING – Even without its top running back for the spring, Michigan State’s backfield appears to be one of the team’s strengths headed into the off-season.
Madre London looked dynamic. Gerald Holmes looked powerful. All while LJ Scott stood on the sidelines in a sweatsuit during last Saturday’s spring scrimmage.
London ran 15 times for 127 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown, and Holmes barreled for 61 yards on 21 carries as the primary running backs.
“Madre London had a couple big runs and Holmes was steady in there as well, but you have to be consistent in the game of football,” MSU coach Mark Dantnonio said after Saturday’s 33-23 victory by the defense.
