EAST LANSING - David Beedle logged 550 snaps last season.
The Michigan State offensive lineman played both guard spots and battled through a knee injury but didn't allow a single sack all year. That was a statistic Beedle didn't need to be told.
"I definitely knew that one," he said.
Tracking his performance snap-by-snap may come natural to Beedle but he's now being pushed a little further from his comfort zone.
Center Brian Allen, a three-year starter and team captain last season, is now in the NFL. That leaves Beedle, a 6-foot-5, 330-pound fifth-year senior, as the veteran on the offensive line who is expected to take charge of the group and be more vocal.
