It's bad news for the rest of the Big Ten.
Ohio State announced Thursday that football coach Urban Meyer has agree to a contract extension that will keep him in Columbus through the 2022 season.
And it's probably no coincidence he's the league's highest-paid coach now.
With the Board of Trustees full approval of Meyer's new deal, it will raise his average salary to $7.6 million per season, he'll pass Michigan's Jim Harbaugh in annual compensation. Harbaugh is slated to make $7.5 million in 2018.
Meyer ranks behind only Nick Saban and Dabo Swinney nationally.
