UM rallies to beat MSU, opens vs. Northwestern in Big Ten tournament

Michael Brdar collected three hits, including the game-winning single in the 10th, as Michigan rallied to defeat Michigan State, 2-1, Saturday in the regular-season finale at McLane Stadium in East Lansing.

Michigan (42-13) moves on as the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten tournament where it will play No. 7 Northwestern 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bloomington, Ind.

The Wolverines enter on a winning note as Brdar's base hit to right scored Jake Bivens from second with two outs in the top of the 10th. Bivens started the rally with two outs, singling on an 0-2 pitch off Spartans right-handed reliever Ethan Landon.
