Tyler O’ Connor Gains Valuable Experience in Win Over Maryland

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State back-up quarterback Tyler O’Connor had no clue what was in store for him before Saturday’s game against Maryland in Spartan Stadium.

Co-offensive coordinators Dave Warner and Jim Bollman were also caught unaware when head coach Mark Dantonio put out word that O’Connor would replace third-year starter and MSU all-time wins and passing-touchdowns leader Connor Cook on the Spartans’ second series of the game.

“I heard it on the headsets,” said O’Connor, who had punted in previous games but was still looking for his first pass of the season.
