Trieu: W.L. Western’s White respects MSU’s player development

Walled Lake Western’s Cody White is the latest in-state prospect to receive an offer from Michigan State.

A Detroit News All-State and All-Metro North selection as a junior, White is a 6-foot-3, 190 pound wide receiver who could project as a defensive back as well.

The other Big Ten schools who have offered are Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, Northwestern and Minnesota. Syracuse, Wake Forest, Boston College, Duke and several MAC schools also have offered. While many know White’s father is former Lions vice president of pro personnel and interim general manager Sheldon White, he also has family ties to Michigan State.
