Michigan State offered a recruit this week who should have a familiar name to Spartan fans in Muhsin Muhammad III, a sophomore wide receiver at Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School.
His father, Muhsin Muhammad II, played at Michigan State before he was a second-round draft choice of the Carolina Panthers, and played in two Pro Bowls and one Super Bowl.
The younger Muhammad is a 6-foot, 170-pound recruit who has other offers from North Carolina State, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
“Obviously I think he’s honored to receive the offer opportunity to play at MSU where his dad played,” Muhammad II said.
