The dead period may have started this week, but colleges can still communicate with recruits, just not in person, and after using the contact period to get on the road, Michigan State’s staff has extended several new scholarship offers in recent days.

Defensive end continues to be an important position for the closing stretch to the Feb. 1 signing day and Spartans coach Mark Dantonio confirmed during his Thursday press conference that defensive line is one spot his staff is continuing monitor for recruits.

The Spartans offered Baltimore (Maryland) The Boys’ Latin School’s Victor Dimukeje (6-foot-2, 254 pounds) this week, a prospect they have evaluated going back to last summer.
