EAST LANSING -- After 20 minutes of talking about Michigan State basketball and every player on the 2018-19 roster, Tom Izzo turned his attention on Thursday afternoon beyond the walls of the Breslin Center.
At his annual media day press conference, Izzo spoke at length about several of the issues affecting college basketball as a whole.
First among those was the FBI investigation into corruption in the sport, which this week produced fraud convictions in a New York courtroom against an Adidas executive, a former Adidas consultant and a runner for an agent.
Izzo called the FBI probe, which looked into illicit payments made to top recruits to steer them to specific schools, "a cloud" for college basketball and didn't downplay the significance for the sport.
