Back in December, blogger and former Ohio State walk-on Mark Titus started a rumor that has recently spread like wildfire and he even went on SportsCenter to tell the world what he had concocted. Basically, he thought that Denzel Valentine’s knee injury was something Tom Izzo made up so Michigan State wouldn’t peak too early.
The Spartans were 13-0 in non-conference play and Titus believed that Izzo was worried they were too good too early on so the run in March could potentially be shorter.
Izzo then claimed that Denzel Valentine needed knee surgery and had to kind of bring the team back down to earth as the senior guard missed four games.
