EAST LANSING — Michigan State has better shooters, a deeper bench and more athleticism than last season's Final Four basketball team, but coach Tom Izzo is not content with the Spartans' interior play.
Izzo made those things clear in his interview with an Italian reporter for the "Firenzebasketblog" following Tuesday night's 98-54 win in Florence, Italy, over club team Basket-Florentina.
"We're not a great team yet, but I think we have a chance to be," said Izzo, whose only previous comments came from an MSU release. "I think we're a better shooting team than last year, we're deeper than last year and we're more athletic than last year.
