Tom Izzo is all for giving winter athletes a free pass for this season.
Michigan State basketball’s Hall of Fame basketball coach remains leery, however, of a potential NCAA plan to allow transfers — one time only — without athletes having to sit out a year.

The decision gives athletes “both an additional season of competition and an additional year in which to complete it,” according to the Division I Council’s release.
