A trio of former Michigan State players on Thursday were named finalists in the 2018 class for the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame.
Tony Banks is a finalist in the player category while Bob Apisa and Charlie Wedemeyer are finalists in the coach and contributor group.
The 18 finalists were picked from a group of more than 200 nominees by the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Five inductees (four players and one coach/contributor) will be announced on Oct. 10 and then enshrined during the Polynesian Bowl Jan. 19-20, 2018, in Hawaii.
